FROM OUR OPEN TANDOOR MENU - Saber's Taste Of India
A Tandoor is a vat shaped clay oven. It opens at the top and meat is lowered into the oven on skewers while the naan breads are stuck to the inner side of its walls and baked. The enclosed heat slowly and simultaneously bakes, roasts and grills food, rendering the meats well done, yet juicy and soft. Meat, fish, and seafood are marinated in our special yogurt, spices and herbs sauce for 24 hours before going into the Tandoor.

Does not merit "the Best in Kingston" title
I have lived in the Emirates and various parts of the GTA. My experience of Indian food in all of those places was always hot, flavourful and best of all, good value for your money.
Such is not the case at Curry Original.
Service was very slow, it was almost an hour before we received our food.
The naan, I will admit, is quite good. The food was decent, not the best I've had (home made Indian food is always better) and the portions were very disappointing. When I order curry, I expect a large plate of curry, not a small casserole dish with 5 pieces of lamb in it. Maybe that's how "fancy" restaurants roll but that, I don't think is the philosophy behind Indian food.
This experience was pretty disappointing. Next time I have an Indian food craving, I'll suck it up until I get home to TO.
I cant belive that this place is rated the best in kingston. Yes their Naan bread is amazing. But eveything else is very mediocore. I would definatley not eat at this place save your money for a big cuty indian restaurant.
I had a hard time ranking this restaurant, I dont believe it is "great overall" but it is not simply "adequate" either.
Much of the food is very good (best Naan in Kingston) but some of it falls short and is very Canadianized... too sweet not enuff heat.
If you are in Kingston this is one of the top Indian restraunts around, but it does not rival any big city indian restaurant.
This is one of my favourite restaurants in Kingston and I have eaten there many, many times. The atmosphere is lovely - clean and comfortable. The staff are friendly and helpful and make us feel not only welcome but our business is appreciated. As vegetarians, we LOVE the large selection of vegetarian dishes.

We went to the Ontario St location (downtown) as we have in the past. Our last experience was NOT pleasant for the drinks were watery not thick and the naan was burnt but this time around we were pleased with our meal as it was similar to our meals there in the past. We always order more dishes for the variety and for leftovers! For those not accustomed to eating at Indian restaurants, the dishes are designed for sharing and allows for trying different ones each visit. We will definitely go back.
