Really Love this place for both food and drinks. Their variety of food items on the menu is delicious and staff is really a hoot and make me laugh whenever I'm there. This restaurant is such a contradiction. It has the potential to become the best restaurant in Ottawa (if not the country). All the elements are in place. Awesome, atmosphere, great staff (mostly), and good food. The only stick in the ointment is a single toxic personality in the guise of a server, who seems intent on destroying all of that and ensuring that you never come back. She's a bit older than the other servers (who are all excellent), but this is not about age. Irene's up the road seems like an older crowd of patrons and servers, but they are awesome...but I digress, this not about Irene's, I just wanted to show that the contradiction at Patty's boils down to one personality. It's a real pity, because everything and everyone else there is out of this world.

If you only have a one hour lunch then this is definitely NOT the place for you to eat at that time.
We arrived and it was busy. The place seems cramped but it appearred to be clean. We had reserved a table for noon and waited a while to get seated. When the waitress finally made it to our table we ordered drinks and our food at the same time. It took a long time just to get our drinks and a very long time for our food. It ended up being an hour and a half lunch. Most other restaurants in the area offer a quick lunch so people can get back to work in a timely fashion. This is where The Wood falls drastically short.
The food was good, this I will not dispute. By burger was juicy and cooked perfectly and the salad with balsamic dressing was fresh and nice also. Unfortunately the speed of service will have to keep me away from this restaurant.
