Took my white-azz out for dinner last night.....
This is a portuguese restaurant in the middle of a poor working class area that dishes out some very good food.
I had the grilled seabass (fantastic) and my wife had a steak also good.
The wine selection is honest and earthy with emphasis on portuguese and well priced.
I would definitely come back for more experiments.

My experience at Banaboia Restaurant has been a good one over all. The place is clean. The food is fresh and portions are a good size, prices are also reasonable. The service is great. They have a waiter there by the name of Sergio who made my experience a wonderful one inturn I will continue to go back. I have been going there throughout the years and waiters have come and gone, no one has been as personable, professional and as friendly as Sergio, not even the owners come to think of it. Hopefully the owners realize what a great employee they have and treat him well. It is very difficult to find good employees these days. So people go in have a good meal and meet Sergio the exceptional waiter.....
I've been coming to this restuarant for over 15 years! It was first located on College/Grace St. People their are friendly and very very genuine! The food is HEAVEN!!! True Portuguese Cuisine in it's finest! Seeing is believeing an eating is the true test! You won't be sorry!!
We have been impressed with the food and the service every time we've been here. We've eaten fresh fish, shellfish and meat dishes and they have all been delicious.
Their shishkebabs are worth ordering even just for the presentation on sword-length skewers.
The wine list has some excellent Portuguese wines and all at a reasonable price.
The prices are around $20 per entree and they are very large portions. Unless you are a big eater, you can easily share a meal and a appetizer.
