What a terrible place. I paid 90$ for my meal with my husband and I last night, and I came home with leftovers, turns out they were not mine but a strangers meal from the restaurant. I called to inquire about it and the owner Andrea was so rude and I explained her the situation beside one of my coworkers and she asked me why I was being so short. I replied what! I'm not even being short I'm telling you what happened" then she continued to argue didn't comp my meal & said that I was the rude one
very enjoyable The food and service was great!
Went for MIL's Bday and she is tough to impress and yet she was. She often doesn't finish her meal and ate the whole lugini and even ordered cheesecake as well! Husband had pizza and hurt himself eating it all (to be fair he also had 3 pieces of bread). My kids both had children's pizza which was a great price ($7 for pizza and drink and ice cream!). I had gnoccis and it was wonderful! I also had the most decadent chocolate cake afterwards that I didn't mind sharing with the kids as it was too much (and I am not a light eater). So rich I wish I had ordered milk!
We took my girlfriend out for a Saturday dinner to the Waterloo location. A really nice famliy style Italian restaurant. The food was very good.
When I first came to Ennio's in my first-second year of university, it was amazing. Service fast, food fresh, and presented in a timely manner - not too fast and not too slow. However, since going back a few times in the past year, the service and food have seemed to take a turn for the worst. Sometimes I even feel like I am getting the 'student deal'. My pasta, which I have the same of every time I'm there, seems watered down and chicken not so cooked. Last time I was there the entree came out very quickly after the salad and before the bread. It was overwhelming to have our table full of everything. The atmosphere has remained the same over the years: very loud. If you're looking for a quiet Italian place, this is not it. This is definitely geared toward families. (It's a student town, so what can you expect!)
We had our valentine's date here after coming for a company Christmas party. Very busy but having booked a reservation we knew there would be a seat for us. Salads were fresh and crisp, entries arrived before we had the opportunity to finish our salads. Bruschetta was great, bread was very fresh. Service by the waitress was excellent. They had ran out of beer for my wife and gave us a complimentary one of a different brand. Thank you for a great experience!
Delicious food! Service was a little slow but it was a Saturday night and the place was packed. Will definitely go again.
We have been to Ennios before and enjoyed the food, so we thought, hey, lets go back. We got there and were greeted kind of abruptly, but it was later in the evening and maybe they'd had a bad day. We then sat at our table for 10+ minutes before the waitress, who was standing at the bar chatting, came to take a drink order. another 5 minutes later she returned with the 2 pops we'd ordered, forgetting the water. That was the last drink we managed to get through the whole meal, despite asking twice. We ordered food that sounded delicious, me the peppercorn steak pasta, my girlfriend the Chicken Marsala. My food came out and looked and smelled amazing, but was so heavily salted it was almost inedible. My girlfriends food was good, but not very hot. We would have happily spoken to the waitress, but she never once came by after dropping the food off. So we both soldiered through our food, me getting more and more thirsty but without a drink. At the end of the meal we couldn't get a word in with our waitress, so we talked to the nice lady at the front desk. Nothing was offered to correct the problems, but we at least let them know in hopes they'd improve. Ennios seems like a place that used to be fantastic and a great place, but it's slipped and they've lost their passion for making great food. I want to believe that it can get better, but it wouldn't surprise me if it closed. The staff seemed half asleep, the food poor, the place empty. It's too bad, because so many people have so much good to say about it.
We were disappointed. The sauces tasted canned. The rolls were refrigerator cold. No drink refills arrived until we were leaving. The ceasar dressing was in globs and tasted like it was from a jar. The dining room was overly dark and dull decor. We're Italian, so maybe we expected too much... like food at least as good as what we could get at home. This place was such a disappointment.
If you’re a pasta lover, you will defiantly want to visit the place. It’s clean, fresh, authentic and delicious! And the price is right. (The menu is mostly pasta so don’t invite people that don’t share your same passion for pasta.)
When I was a student at Waterloo anytime I had extra money or my parents would come visit we went to Ennios. The pasta is delicious. I'm pretty picky about my pasta- being over cooked, too much sauce. This place is GREAT. I use to order this creamy pasta with broccoli, but unfortunately it is no longer on their menu. My dad got the escargots and he thought they were amazing. We friend and I shared the mushroom salad app...delicious. I could eat that dish twice. Last time I went I ordered the tomato cheese ravioli...yum again! Recently, went for a friend's birthday and everyone ordered pasta and we all agreed in consensus the food was VERY GOOD. I highly recommend the place. Great atmosphere it's dark and intimate for family, date night or friends.
went for lunch with a friend and we told the waitress we weren't in a hurry - SO SHE NEVER CAME BACK... literally, we never saw her again... we had to get up and ask someone to take our order and when they finally did and our food came they forgot to bring my bread. no one checked on us during our lunch and we had to ask for our bill... very disappointed!
Been to Ennio's between 5-10 times. At first I wasn't too sure, then though I didn't like it. However, the last 4 visits I've had have been great. They are making great food in that place. The caesar salad is very good, the fresh bread - very nice. Last couple of items I had - pasta arrabiatto, carbonara, and veal sandwich - have all been excellent and surpassed my expectations. My wife would give Ennio's 5 stars any day of the week - she loves their cheese capaletti.
This was our first time here, and overall my boyfriend and I enjoyed it! The hostess was great and the bar tender was efficient. I felt like the size of my daquiri was a little small, but it turned out to be the perfect size in the end! The server was extremly friendly, and helped uss decide our order... she made good choices! The salad (ceasars) and bread came out promptly... I was thrilled to see real bacon bits, but felt like the crutons were bought (which I thought was funny because they must have lots of bread hanging around)... then before I was finished my salad our mains came (which is a personal pet peeve of mine... I dont know about anyone else) but I put my salad aside and nibbled on my pasta and salad at the same time until the salad was gone and I was full. Another tiny pet peeve of mine is when servers do not quality check the food they bring out, and our server did not quality check our apps or mains.... when the server came back she grabbed our plates and THEN asked if we were done... kinda seems backwards if you ask me! lol! either way...overall the service was pretty good (she was super friendly and that always helps big time!) and the food was great (although nothing on the dessert menu grabbed our attention- personal preference here!). I would visit again! I am not sure why people are saying the service is slow however...as I felt like we were rushed a little bit throughout our entire meal... we didnt really wait for anything except our table (and we only waited for that for 5 minutes!).... I sure hope this review is helpful! I would def. reccomend this restaurant to pasta lovers!
I have always enjoyed eating here. The food is great, the service is a tad slow but nothing to worry too much about. I especially love their lasagna. Probably the best Italian restaurant in town.
My first time here in a long time. I had first ordered a Stella on draft and the waitress said they had ran out. She then came back and said they are out of another draft beer. I ordered a Budweisere bottle and she came back and said that was gone to. Not sure who orders the alchol, but it is not working. I had asked if the mushrooms are fresh she said she would check. She never did reply to my question. The atmosphere is nice, it was busy inside. I dont know if they will make it if they cannot get things straightened out. Service was decent and the food was okay. It seemed like the tetrazine was made from canned mushroom soup? I would not rush back.
This is the place to go if you're craving Italian food. I've come for lunch and dinner, and I'd never had a bad experience. The food is absolutely delicious. It gets busy on weekends, so call ahead if you don't want to wait.
Use to go to Salute, but have not been impressed with recent experiences. Decided to go to the New Ennio's on Fairway in Kitchener. The food was incredible, service impecible, and the atmosphere looked as though they have been at this location for years! Extreemly romantic and the jazz music really adds a certain flair. The food was hot and arrived in a timely fashion. Our server was very accomadating and allowed us to enjoy our evening with out rush. We ordered cappucino before our wine was done and she allowed us time to enjoy it before bringing the coffee. We had a celiac in our party and they accomadated her with gluten free choices and were able to tweak certian dishes to help her out! Loved our experience! Our new favorite Spot! I encourage you all to try !! YUMM!!!
This is the most amazing restaraunt around! They are able to accomidate celiacs, making most of their pasta available gluten free! They have a gluten free appetizer and dessert. And they understand the seriousness of cross-contamination! Their food is amazing, and depending on the server, the service is usually great! Reservations are required for a decent table even with a smaller party. The food is mouth watering. I cannot get enough of it!
There were 8 tables and at least 6 staff. 3 of whom walked PAST where we were standing at least 4 times telling us they were too busy to get to us right now. We had ordered our food to go - it was actually sitting right on the desk getting colder and colder. About 20 minutes later (with a growing line of people behind us) someone was able to process the money and we were able to leave Ennios to eat. The portions were about half the size you get in the dining room, soggy, stone cold congealed messes and the service was probably the worst service I have ever had in a restaurant, which led to the worst meal I've had in a long time.
