Really bad food and service - not really Thai, Vietnamese or Chinese. We also have some diarrhea, but the complaints would not be useful. Also, the owner did not make efforts to improve the food or service. the restaurant did not have a clear sign of cash only or a minimum purchase is required

Quirky staff & Good food

We've been here several times and i love it. The food is good, not fantastic but very good at least. The vegetables and products they use are fresh and they go easy on the fat and salt. They don't have staff really, it's just two people doing everything and yes this makes the waiting time longer. Sometimes there is an extra person coming in to help out. The menu is huge and that might be a little too much for both of them to handle. So what it's not authentic something. And really, if i pay 8,50 per plate i don't really expect it to be high end authentic Chinese or vietnamese cuisine. Judge it for what it is: a small family run restaurant with very affordable prices. In that genre this is a gem. So what if they sell poutine as well.

"Worst food ever?" Possibly. I appreciate the sentiment of this restaurant owner and her family growing this eatery from a humble 3-dollar beginning. That said, all the sentiment in the world does not make up for what I was served this past weekend. Whenever you see Poutine and Cantonese Chow Mein on the same menu, or a ‘Miscellaneous’ menu category, you should really forgo the possibility of enjoying anything coming out of the kitchen. My Chow Mein was mushy and over cooked, used pre-cooked canned mushrooms, and left me looking for the door. The shrimp dumplings still make me shake, and need not any further mention. With some focused direction, dishes like the Vietnamese spring roll, and a decent Pho could save this restaurant. In the future, despite being a block from my where I live, I will surely make the walk down to Spadina or College West when looking for Chinese or Vietnamese. “I’ll have the Cheese Burger and the Wonton Soup”, no thanks.

I simply have to say one thing: DO NOT EAT HERE!! NOT Authentic asian food, tastes horrible and do I even have to talk about the service? I don't usually go this far, but honestly... what a mistake to have walked in.

Worst ever!

This was the worst ever! First of it took well over an hour for them to deliver the food, considering I live only 10 mins away. I had ordered my noodles with veg only and it came with shrimp and pork (muslim) I don't eat pork!! I called them back and they came back to pick it up but took them another 45 mins to bring another one!! with no compensation. When I ask...they hang up on me!! Very rude to say the least! Really there was no point in now sending the noodles since I had already finished eating! The rest of the food had barely any taste and I will never order from this place again!

My fiancee and I decided to drop by since we were in the neighbourhood and was curious to see what this restaurant was like since we watched Restaurant Makeover. There was no one at the restaurant which was one clue, at the height of lunch hr. As we walked in we noticed how dirty and unkept the place was which was a shame since the restaurant looked lovely on the show. The green tea we ordered came from bags, the pho soup was the WORST that we've had ever - so watered down and tasteless with a few scraps of tough meat. My general tsao chicken was mostly batter with very little chicken. The only item on the menu that we didn't mind eating was the vietnamese spring roll which wasn't anything special. The place was so dirty, there was only one person working there, so when she was in the back working, customers would be coming in and walking out when they got tired of waiting. We could have easily dined and dashed! Very sad to see the place run down like this - I don't know how they'll survive any longer.

I have been going to this place for years...its was shabby looking but awesome food, now with the makeover it looks great and glad to see Rose kept the same old menu. This is a very simple hard working single mother immigrant from vietnam, she litrally only had a few dollars when arriving, and 3 amazing daughters. No i am not family but i have got to know the family over the years of always going. As soon as i walk in the door, even if its been over a year (since i moved away) she still remembers me and does nto even ask what i want, just knows its hot and sour soup, #174 with Vietnamese Spring Roll. This is not a "FANCY" place but a hidden gem amongst the neighbouring "big wigs". Saigon Flower is a 100% must...people with bad reviews really dont appreciate the food and dedication. PS.....I was amazed when i first saw Roses kitchen, most asain restaurant kitchens can be sketchy....but hers is amazing and CLEAN! 100%

I took my date to this place because it seemed nice from the outside. I wish I had not. The food was so bland, almost as if someone washed all the spices and taste away. I had to ask them to take my plate back and add more sauce or whatever, but to please try to salvage the food. It didn't help. In the end the bill came to $28 for a very bad and bland dinner. I'll never come back again.

Saw this restaurant on the Restaurant Makeover...

Saw this restaurant on the Restaurant Makeover show, and thought the food was rocked with the new eclectic taste. Seeing the poor review below, I can't help but wonder if it's a neighbouring jealous restaurant trying to put in a bad word. :P

I decided to eat here after seeing the place on Restaurant Makeover, and although the decor is not the worst, the food definitely is. Given a menu of probably over 100 dishes, we chose the 'special' main and soup, which we assumed would be good choices. Both were the blandest restaurant meals I have ever had, with completely flavourless vegetables and boiled chicken. No spices, herbs or sauces at all. The food was so unappealing that we didn't finish any of it, and paid $30 for nothing.
