“Ever since I was a little kid, I knew I wanted to be a florist,” recalls Garden’s Path Floral Design founder John Schell, “I always thought I would do it later in life, but I worked at a flower shop in my early 20s and I was hooked.”
That passion for flower arranging took John to Montreal and Quebec City, where he learned the techniques of flower design, from traditional European bouquets to the ancient Japanese style of Ikebana. Eventually, his journey landed him in downtown Toronto, where he started up Garden’s Path Floral Design in 1993. Now in a larger location on Queen Street East, John arranges flowers for a variety of corporate and private clientele, some of whom he’s been serving for decades.
