For as long as she can remember, music has been part of Julie Sousa’s life. “I started taking piano lessons as a kid,” she says. “At the studio where I took my lessons, we bought a piano and as payment, my piano teacher suggested I work there.” Julie began working as a receptionist at the studio and then made her foray into teaching. “It was something that I really loved to do,” she says.
Julie eventually opened her own teaching practice on Annette Street, but when demand from the community increased, she realized she needed a larger space and moved to her current location on Jane Street in the spring of 2014. “We’re still close enough to Annette that I could keep the name Annette Street Music,” laughs Julie.
