Man this place is all over the map. One day the food is great and another day it sucks. They need to be consistent. This is the second day I went to their breakfast buffet. The first time was as soon as they had introduced the brunch. The first time was great. This time I found that the quality of the buffet had come down drastically. Price has gone up I think. Fair enough, but the items were not that great. Pongal was more like a paste. There was no poori. Earlier they had poori. Big dissappointment for my kids and me of course:) The coffee was stale. The idlis were cold. The dosas were not delivered on time. Too much wait for the dosas. I can go on and on. The most important thing I noticed was, they had a yellow sticker from the health inspection. It is a conditional pass. Not sure what happened, but the sticker was the same the next time we went also. Must be something big. Oh well! the food is allright. Too bad. I have to think twice about visiting this place, but there is no other choice right now. Hope a competitor comes by soon for some spicy chettinad food.
Went there around 12.15 on a weekend. That was a mistake since the breakfast buffet was just over and the they were not prepared adequately for the made to order items from the menu. Ordered the items as mentioned in the list. They said that it will be about 5-10 minutes since the food was being prepared. It was about 20 minutes and we started getting the items. First the chicken 65 was undercooked. Realised after a bite and when I told them, they took it and once again deep fried the same thing and brought it back and now it was charred. Strike 1. The other appetizer was good. All the main course items came almost simultaneously, but it was about 30 minutes since we ordered. All the items were piping hot since it was cooked just then. The problem once again seemed to be undercooking in the chiken. Strike 2. Once again complained and the dish was taken back and we got the fully cooked chicken in another 20 minutes. Otherwise the rest of the items were good. One other thing was the Mutton in the keema dosa was not ground as it should have been. It was pieces of mutton. It is not the same taste as the regular keema dosa, but tasted allright. So no strike 3 for that. Also the mutton biriyani had too many bones, but taste was not bad. I liked the Chicken Masala the best. Overall, I may go back and give them one more chance. John Taite who posted earlier and gave a 10 seems more like and ad to this place:) I would have given the higher rating but for the undercooking in two of the dishes which was probably because we were there early. Next time will go by 1.
Visting the reastaurant with thoughts of having good time with friends and family flew past us the moment we entered the restaurant. We were greeted by mugginess as in A/c being set at 83 DegF on the day which was considered as one of the hottest days of summer, outside was very pleasant,I almost slept standing while waiting for my MIA dinner order. The quality of service was bad or should I say usage of word-quality to measure this kind of service would be an insult to the mentioned word-quality. If there is a next time to this restaurant(I sincerely hope not) ---- I am going to ask the person(s) sitting closest to us to place our orders and vice-versa, so that there a possibility that we would get the "right" orders. ---- Do an instant water fasting incase of the above mentioned MIA dinner order. ---- Enjoy the game of matchings the orders to the table played by the "Contestants" AKA the staff. ---- Learn to speak tamil as it seemed to be a "prerequisites" to eat at this place since it was assumed by-the-way-we-look-we-know-tamil. Pardon me as I do not mean this as an insult to any tamil speaking person(s). The only least-expensive metal lining during the whole episode was the quality of food and it was good.
