My first experience visiting The Works after reading and hearing so much about it....actually visited the OAKVILLE Ontario location and now plan on visiting each of the other location as a nice summer of 2012 challenge.
A little on the pricey side but the quality and taste can't be touched as a critique.... fresh, well prepared and worth the $$$
The food is great, but it's a little pricey. I've always recieved great service and great food here. Never had a bad experience and the Milk Shakes are great!
I think it's a great concept, but the food and prices aren't up to par. The onion rings have already been touched on by other reviewers but I'm gonna have to beat the dead horse here. They were tasty, but I split them with 3 others and we got no more than two each. They are way overpriced for the amount you get! However, the four different dipping sauces were really cool.
I ordered a vegeburger and I can't remember the name of my topping with it was gouda cheese, hot peppers and a hot sauce. It was tasty, but I was not fond of the texture, it was kind of just all mush and they didn't offer other toppings to give a crunch to the burger.
Two of the four diners I was with were not impressed with the restaurant, I was on the fence, and one loved it.
The good news for The Works is that I would return and try a different combination.
I have been to the works three times hoping that I would really come to enjoy it, because I think it is an interesting concept. The atmosphere is funky, and offers personality. The food however, leaves something to be desired, the meat was dry, and the burger was very bland. For a burger it is over priced. I think that part of the problem is that they were looking to offer a quantity of choices and interesting combinations but are forgetting about quality of ingredients, and over all delivery.

Best burgers in town. The Beechwood location is a little crammed, but forgivable. Staff are very friendly and personable. And helpful. And competent.
Bank street location is better for space, but the setup isn't as cozy.
Onion rings are way too expensive, but the milkshake was possibly one of the best I've ever tasted.

Lots of modification options (organic beef, white or whole wheat bun, many sides to choose from) but watch out because some are really pricey!

it's cool that there are so many combinations of burgers. the place is really original and has a cool vibe to it. staff was really friendly and helpful.
Honestly this place is terrible your too close to other people and you leave smelling like meat the only thing good is that attractive manager rosemary
