We've eaten at Ritorno about 4 or 5 times now, and love it every time. At first there were a few kinks for the resturaunt to work out, but now it seems like they have everything under control.
Everything from the atmosphere, service and finally the FOOD was amazing!
Rigatoni is my favorite! Spaghetti and meatballs are yum, yum, yum!
If you're looking for an 'out of the box' dining experience, you MUST try Ritorno... you won't be disappointed.
I don't normally write these things so i will keep it short. My wife and I came in here for dinner the other night and everything was great... The service was bang on...and so was the food. a must try if your in the area!
I came for dinner with my son, husband and some friends a few weeks ago and my son decided then and there that he wanted to celebrate his birthday at Ritorno. Since then we have been back twice and there are still so many great things we want to try on the menu that we will be back again soon. I don't understand what people are talking about with their negative reviews. This is a really nice place and the food is great. It is nice to have somewhere decent to eat in north Oakville. There may have been some growing pains when they first opened but they have got it together and the service and food is first rate. I realize that people are free to make up their own minds and that is what I suggest you do. Try it and you will be recommending this restaurant to everyone looking for a new and authentic Italian eatery. The Pannetone Bread Pudding is "to die for"!
We have attended twice, once for dinner and once for lunch.
Lunch is a lovely choice from the regular menu or pannini sandwiches. Our dinner service was prompt and given by a very polite waitress. She offered specials and suggestions to our menu. The food was a bit slow arriving probably due to the full house the restaurant was experiencing that evening. Our appetizers help make the short wait very pleasant. The more traditional tomato bruschetta was delicious on bread toasted firm enough with out being brittle. The al Funghi tasted like wild mushrooms with a wonderful warm Gorgonzola sauce. It had a very rich flavour which two of my companions found a bit over powering. It's very good if you want a stimulating flavour. My Penne Con vitello ragu was very enjoyable with nice veal pieces and my friend enjoyed hers as well. The men had traditional veal parmigiana and were very satisfied. My side dish of asparagus parmigiana complemented my meal, the asparagus were cooked to tender without over cooking. My friends enjoyed the roasted vegetables. Over all we enjoyed great service in a very charming, Tuscan atmosphere. It's great to have authentic food in a mostly residential area.
