Ok, it's a buffet with a LOT of variety. It's up to you to make it count. I like the variety so I take very small portions. Quarter bowl of Hot and Sour soup mixed with a couple of wontons from the Wonton soup. Stay away from the rice unless you want to fill up. People go crazy over the crab legs, they don't impress me none. Prime rib station is the first walk by. If you like Med Rare this is a necessary step. They may have some Med rare, if not judge by the size when you will need to come back or ask the server. Sometimes they have lamb,,, same question for server. The sushi rolls are okay and the Grill station(chicken, sausage, gyoza) is worth some plate space. The green beans are good when they first come out from the kitchen. I skip the desert. A man has got to know his limits. Discounts for seniors with ID and yes, they ask for it. Can get very crowded on weekends. Reservations are a smart idea, the waiting room at this location can get filled up and there is maybe 10 chairs.
It's the Manderin it's Buffet, Lot's of food and you leave there stuffed! Great selection that caters to even the pickiest of people, Besides the Oriental Staff the food is about as Oriental as I am but overall good tasting grub! Great place for the family! My kids love it.
We had to wait 30 mins for a table, but service was prompt after that. On the way to the table, I looked at the food on offer and was ready to beeline for certain items. I do eat Chinese food but on this occasion, I didn't eat anything Chinese at all. For first course, I had a good thick slice of beef from the Canadian station, and some roasted chicken, potatoes (large home fries really) and mussels. Second course was much the same, third course was a plate of mussels, and for desert a small bowl of strawberries. Next time, I will try the Chinese food..
Going here on a Weekday for dinner was less busy than weekends. We went in and waited about 3 minutes to be seated for our table. When we were greated by the wait staff we were asked for our drink order. We just chose ice water as it had been a hot day. We were served warm water with about 1 or 2 mostly disolved cubes. Water was still warm. this happened 4 times during our dinner and we finally had to ask them for the ice portion as the water was warm. The food was typical buffet style and had lots of selection. They had prime rib on the buffet so we had a small piece and tried some mash potatoes. the beef was average but slightly dry. The potatoes were totally gross. They tasted like powdered and were not edible. On to the other selections. The cihnese food was average and tasted ok. We had to ask for soy sauce and it finally came at the end of our meal. I guess we were supposed to use if for our desert. The fact that there were not overly busy did not explain the poor level of service and the substandard customer care. I would think twice before spending almost twenty per preson to go here again.
It is hard to say a lot about the Mandarine. It is usually very busy, tables are fairly close together, and the decor is a bit dated and tacky. What can you say, it is no more or less than you would expect from a buffet. The food is not bad, but overall it is a little bland and consists of much frozen, deep fried fare. The only time I feel tempted to go is when they have crab legs.
