I've been eating here since this restaurant has opened and I'm in love with it! The crispy calamari appetizer is amazing! The sea food pad thai is a must! I did however order for the first time this past weekend the sweet and sour chicken and wasn't keen on the taste of it, which I was suprised to finally find one item on their menu I didn't so much enjoy. I'm going for the record of trying everything they have to offer at least once! The servers are always friendly, thoughtful and attentive. A very small, cozy and warm feeling place. Be prepared to make reservations on the weekend. The place is a gem!

Really love going here! Great food and service. The only thing I would change is the fresh spring roles. I've ordered them a few times and the chicken in them is always very dry. I've enjoyed them at other restaurants and wish Mango Salad would rethink their recipe (and their dipping sauce- Peanut sauce would be better) !!!

We searched the Restaurantica reviews for a...

We searched the Restaurantica reviews for a dinner place around Woodstock/Ingersoll/London that was close enough to the highway for a quick and easy sidestep while on our travels. After reading the reviews for Mango Salad we were intrigued. All of the reviews are correct, they serve an exceptional meal. I'm sorry we didn't write down or remember the two curries names -- I think they were the bottom two on the curry page. I like hot curries but I went mild that day for my partner who has trouble with hot pepper since quitting smoking. Finally we've found two Thai curries, totally delicious, that are mild enough. Hooray!! The cold glass noodle salad was sweet, sour, crunchy with vegetables and resilient with those lovely mung bean glass noodles. Glass noodles have a soft yet resilient texture all their own that I'm crazy for. The coconut rice was creamy and decadent - could almost double as a dessert. The chicken curry with wavy cut potatoes was really good, had lots of lemongrassy bits and it tasted like it was simmered and carmelized all day long.... mmmmmm. I swear I can taste the difference between a quick cook and long cook curry -- this was definitely long cook according to my mouth. The beef curry with wavy cut potatoes was more like a beef stew, packed with flavour, but reminiscent more of carmelized onions and mellowed spicing than what I think of as traditional curry. The thing about this curry was it was full of these gorgeous chunks of lean beef, like generous bite-sized cubed sirloin, and it was a relaxed enough package that a less adventurous type could get their mouth around it. In particular, I'm thinking about the people that are dragged to exotic restaurants but are much more comfortable with North American meat and potatoes. I think this dish would be a good, flavourful choice for the 'timid and traditional' to start their journey into the unknown. The banana fritter and ice cream were really good, capped the meal off nicely. Our server was pleasant, happy, alternately chatty and industrious, and checked on us after each course to make sure we were happy. Decor is comforting and relaxing, not bright and not dark with a well-put-together Thai theme -- a really lovely place we intend to return to again and again.
