At times it gets very busy so its good to make a resavation.
I've visited this restaurant 3 times, as it was favorited by some of my friends.
But, our experience on last visit to this restaurant was so terrible that all 8 of my friends will vowed never to return ever again..
We ordered lots of food, including wine..
First... wine...
Our first bottle of wine was from year 2007.. Then the second was from year 2008!!!
It was so funny we started laughing.. Did they think we would be so drunk we wouldnt even pay attention to the wine label??
We complained to the waitress, who gave us no good enough explanation, not even a sorry..
Next, the food..
I ordered soup.. I believe it was some sort of chicken soup.. It was sooo salty, I thought they had mistakenly dropped their bag of salt into the soup.. I had my friends taste it too.. they all agreed it was inedible.. They brought me another plate.. but this time the soup was tasteless... Just boiled water with some oil on top..
I stopped complaining, and just decided I would not come back..
I liked this restarant; nicely decorated. Food was great, ordered the Linguine Signiture Dish & Stuffed Chicken. Cheap cocktails. LARGE menu so lets to choose from so be careful you order the right ones!!

I've passed this restaurant many time and always wondered about it. Tonight we stopped in for dinner and what a mistake that was. The waiter (could be manager) has a terrible "could care less" attitude. Waited a long time for appetizers that were tasteless. Main courses just adequate but would have been better off with a frozen entree at home. If you're offered a refill on your soft drink know that you will be charged for it !! Bottom line - don't waste your time or money on this place.
the good: the food - everything was delicious
the bad: we had a large party of 40 - the restaurant only scheduled one server for it - thru little fault of her own, the service was sadly lacking
the ugly: we could not see that the manager did anything to help her even though seventeen 7-year-olds waited 90 minutes for food and half of them had to leave before dessert came out; the manager refused to give us our group discount which we had agreed upon when booking (arguing that the 'bookee' had no right to have offered the discount); in spite of our complaints on service the manager refused to remove the automatic 15% gratuity for large parties (which really can't even be legal).
the verdict: in spite of great food the experience was a complete turn-off - the manager was rude, unhelpful, and truly couldn't have cared less if we left happy or even indifferent. the most disheartening part is that the party had been booked 2 weeks prior, with all details worked out including a pre-set menu for the kids; separate bills for the adults; and a group discount. whether it was an overly-ambitious staff member who agreed to the booking or not, the mismanaged event will go down as a brutal event for 17 families who live in the area.
I have always loved Rocco's and eat there at least 50% of the time I go out for dinner (since I moved to Etobicoke in 2001). I bring all my friends there. Unfortunately on my last two visits (in the last two months) we were served by an incredibly rude guy, and he makes condescending and sarcastic comments - I feel very uncomfortable going to Rocco's any more and unfortunately likely won't return. I was hoping the first experience was just a bad night, but the second visit was just as bad. I wish I knew what happened to the gentleman that used to always serve us - he was great! I hope they realize what damage he is doing to their business. The food and everything else is still great but I can no longer enjoy the experience and will not return.
I love the restaurant, it's been a favorite of mine for many years. The manager is usually quite polite to me and my guests. The service may be rushed at times, and it may be difficult to get in, but in my experience the wait is usually worth it. The food is always warm and well done. I definitely recommend the chicken in white wine sauce.

The service was horrific! Our waitress could not recommend any dishes, she hovered annoyingly until our food arrived at which point we literally didn't see her again. In between courses, we were forced to go into the restaurant to get our own clean utensils and side plates as well as our bill at the end of the evening. The calimari and seafood dish were covered in what seemed to be some a sort of balsamic 'gravy', the veal parm and penne were dry and the salads were bland. However, the pizzas were very good and so was the cornish hen. We would not go back and would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

WE HAVE BEEN GOING TO ROCCO'S FOR MANY YEARS MOST OF TIME ON SATURDAY NIGHT WE MAKE RESERVATIONS AS IT IS VERY BUSY AND WE SOMETIMES BRING FAMILY OR FRIENDS WITH US WE FIRST WENT TO ROCCOS QUEENSWAY LOCATION YEARS AGO BUT IT WAS CLOSED ON SUNDAY I BELIEVE WE MET THE OWNER WHO TOLD US OF THE ISLINGTON LOCATION WE HAD EXCELLENT SERVICE SINCE THEN FROM THE GREETING AT THE FRONT DOOR (DONNA) WAITING STAFF HAVE ALWAYS TREATED US WELL ABOVE HIGHER END RESTAURANTS AND THE STAFF THAT PREPARES AND COOKS THE FOOD I CAN ONLY SAY I WISH THEY COOK FOR ME EVERY DAY AND FINALLY THE MANAGEMENT OF THE PLUM TOMATO DENNIS THE MANAGER HAS BEEN TOP NOTCH WITH US HE HAS RECOMMENDED US TO THE OAKVILLE LOCATION WHEN IT FIRST OPEN WE TRIED IT BUT WE LIKE THE ISLINGTON LOCATION LAYOUT,STAFF AND FOOD THE ONLY NEGATIVE IS THE CHAIRS MAYBE I AM GETTING OLDER AND THEY SEEM TO BE GETTING HARDER THANK-YOU ROCCO FOR A GREAT EATING ENJOYMENT P.S. Great food. Everything was fast and effecient. Portions are quite generous and good value. Service from Peter was excellent. A bit noisy but highly recommended.
