On Granville Island, you can enjoy a taste of Montreal at the Siegel's booth in the public food market. Or if you are in Kitsilano, you can pop over to the shop on Cornwall Avenue to satisfy your bagel cravings 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
“There is just no comparison in Vancouver; these are the authentic Montreal-style bagels. All of our many different bagels are delicious, but our best-seller is definitely the rosemary and rock salt,” says Segar Sinnathamby, the original baker at Siegel’s and now manager of the Kitsilano location. “I was working as a baker in a bagel shop in Montreal when Joel Siegel hired me because no one here knew how to make the dough in Vancouver.”
