I've been here many times, and always find myself spending too much for my appetite. This is because you get large amounts of food for your money, and hence, it's easy to overestimate how much you need to get/to spend. Food is delicious, it's a very "greasy spoon" kinda place, has a unique charm.

This restaurant has been here for a million years...

This restaurant has been here for a million years but has recently undergone major renos which give it a more open feel. Commonly known as the "GOOF" due to a neon sign malfunction, it is near the end of the Beach and right across from the Fox Theatre for before or after movie meals and snacks. The menu has been upgraded but the same wonderful staff (one has been there forty years) are there for you. A great place in a neighbourhood that can be a bit snooty. The GOOF isn't snooty, even with the renos. A great place.

Great brunch joints in the Beaches

Great brunch joints in the Beaches

The oldest all-day breakfast place in the Beach, Garden Gate sells “Goo Foo” – or so the legend suggests – and has become known as The Goof. But there is nothing goofy about their spectacular breakfast menu, with four types of breakfast pig (ham, sausage, bacon, pea meal bacon) and all the staples, such as pancakes, French toast and eggs Benedict. Be sure to try the skewered mushrooms.
