A bit out of the way but well worth the trip

I had heard terrific things about Domani, a restaurant run by a former pro footballer from Afghanistan who has worked at some of Toronto's top restaurants, and had to come down to High Park and see for myself. The service was very courteous, prompt, and personal. At no point did we even have to ask for anything because it was already taken care of. The food was exquisite, well-presented and skilfully prepared. The portions were large but despite being quite full it was too delicious to leave any behind. The desserts were absolutely amazing, though next time I would do without the espresso. Though Domani requires a bit of a journey, I have not eaten anywhere in Toronto where gourmet food of this quality is available at such a reasonable price and accompanied by such excellent service.

Where to sip a glass of wine in Roncesvalles

This bar specializes in wine, so just go ahead and challenge the wait staff to bring you a glass that doesn't blow your mind. There are dozens of local and international producers to choose from, with the wine menu separated into red, white and champagne/sparkling varietals. And with zero pretension, you don't have to worry about pairing a glass of merlot with the Scottish smoked salmon.
