some of the best pho in Mississauga.
By all means check out the pho here. But first mosey along a few doors over in this strip plaza and treat yourself to the great sandwiches Holy Smokez BBQ Sandwiches has to offer. These friendly folks have successfully captured the western North Carolina style of pulled pork with just enough smoke evident in their pleasantly moist product. Good pork, a few dashes of their distinctive sauce and the tang and crunch of the slaw. The ample portion size should satisfy most appetites, it's a big sandwich. The additional seventy-six cents charge for a dimes' worth of cole slaw on the sandwich is a bit aggressive, however the sandwich is a good value overall considering its quality and portion size. On another visit we had their "Cheese Steak" Sandwich, not at all like the traditional Philly standard, but one made with shredded smoked brisket, a touch of sautéed onions and peppers and topped with a thin cheese sauce. Good flavour, but messy to eat. Not something that would travel well if you're doing take out. I particularly enjoyed how the operators proudly spoke about their background and how this is the realization of their dream. It's disappointing how this site ignores repeated requests to add new restaurants resulting in how one has to resort to this method to inform you of worthwhile new places. I'll keep trying though.
This restaurant is located in a strip mall (we used to call them “plazas” back in the ‘50s) on the north side of Dundas Street East in Mississauga. It’s a few blocks east of the Mississauga Chinese Mall so it is a convenient place to eat before or after shopping. My wife and I dropped in for lunch right at 12:00. The place was just preparing for the lunch crowd so there was lots of room. We were acknowledged as soon as we came through the door and the smiling waitress came to our table as soon as we got settled. Service was good all the way through our meal. We both had the medium rare beef noodle dish and a side order of Vietnamese spring rolls. Everything was good, but to be honest, the food didn’t seem to be quite as good as at their other location up in Weston (Jane and Wilson) where we usually go. Still it was fine. The lunch clientele was not just Vietnamese but drawn from all the colours and creeds that you find in Mississauga -so they must have something going for them. If we go shopping in the area, we’ll go there again. Lunch for two before tip was $22.
ordered dry yellow noodles w/ BBQ pork and it turned out to be pretty good just that the sauce was a bit on the salty side otherwise it would be perfect (came with a side of soup which was nice). noodles were perfectly cooked with a good enough amount of crunchiness and they also gave a handful of it so it really was worth the money! also decided to try the sour sop (some tropical fruit) milkshake and it was really good! the flavour of the fruit was a sweet/sour taste soo it was pretty interesting. they just needed to put less ice in it next time because i couldn't drink it through a straw and instead had to use a pho spoon to scoop it out of the cup.
best pho place EVER! good prices good food! bathroom could be better.
Very good food and reasonable price. They just opened another store in Mississauga (Bristol and Creditview).
Good quality food for a cheap price. The avocado and jackfruit shake was quite good however I found the mango shake to be a bit waterdown. Overall, I enjoyed this place and would come back again.
Fantastic food, always great. Always very fast service, never had a complaint. Resturant is a bit small, best to go when they're not packed but that's very difficult as they have amazing food. We're regulars, have been for 3 years now.
The food is delicious. No other restaurants makes better Pho noodles. I love it!
Excellent food. This is for anyone who wants real authentic vietnamese food with good prices.
The Pho soup base is good and prices are okay. The Pho Dau Bo has other locations in North York, Hamilton and Kitchener...
