The Longwood Brew Pub is central Vancouver Island's only Brew Pub and Nanaimo's favorite rendezvous destination. Nice restaurent upstairs/great pub downstairs. Continually ranked high/highest amongst Nanaimo restaurents in polls every year. Great brunch on Sundays. Very comfortable, courteous efficient staff all seem to have been there forever. Excellent casual style foods from burgers to salds and especially great soup and sandwich every day. Several beers are all made in house and excel.
We're been patrons here for several years. The beer is excellent and varied and one of the few real brew pubs north of Victoria. However, the food has become very generic pub food over the last few years. Unremarkable burgers and nachos seem to be the regular fare. They used to have gourmet salads, yummy sandwiches and more creative items listed on their menu.
