We live out of the area and normally don't eat at ESM's as we have been bitterly disappointed in the past. Not so at this location! Our experience here put this restaurant back on our radar! Great service, friendly staff (ask for Holly, she's lovely) and the kids were well looked after. Not to mention the ice-cold beer and fresh and tasty food. If you have given up on East Side Mario's don't pass this one up. These guys should show the rest of the chain how it's done! EXCELLENT! Read more

I am confused by the "American" designation, since it is clearly German, right down to the delicious spaetzle and red cabbage. (You can only get the red cabbage if you ask, it isn't on the menu.) The schnitzels are very good, with ample portions. (We have never tried the homemade desserts -- too full!) The meat is tender and set off well by the fine breading. My husband has tried every schnitzel on the menu, and has a hard time declaring a favourite - he enjoys them all. The coffee is very good, the warm bun that comes prior to the meal is a nice treat. The service is usually very pleasant. A little more than a standard lunch in terms of cost, but worth it. Read more

I like this place, though I wish there were more vegetarian options in the menu (in fact, they're shrinking: the portobello mushroom burger has disappeared!). That said, the servers are very pleasant, helpful, and energetic, the place is nice, with a few different atmospheres available (the pub, the restaurant, the patio), and the food is mostly very good. The veggie curry, at $10, is a good deal, though the curry spicing is better some days than others; beware the green salad, which is nothing but greens — other salads are better, and the dips are nice. Nice selection of beers, by the way. They often have some great live music, and then there's the jar of jellybeans on your way out.... Read more

I'm not sure what restaurantica12 problem is with this restaurant. Me and my husband comes here about once a month and it's fantastic, except simetimes when he gets the full rack of ribs one of them isn't the greatest. And honestly it's the best meal for your buck. Sure I'll go back. It's a pub with a great pub atmosphere - good selection of brew on tap. Great nachos - really good value on that - and why not? It keeps you drinking! The other food we had was fine and good value for the price. Service was friendly and attentive. Not all gorgeous as one reviewer wrote (probably an employee) but very good at the job.
