We were on the patio which was fine, but the chairs were back-breakingingly awful and the patio and tables sort of gave the impression that things weren't all that clean. Wait staff was reasonably attentive but not overly friendly. The overall impression was one of a cramped, crowded space both inside and on the patio -too bad they couldn't expand their space. It is a family oriented restaurant where kids are welcome which is nice. And this from a senior senior. And the owner is environmentally aware, and has made changes to reduce the use of plastic before many others; and is respectful of his staff and so closes every year over the holiday period so staff can be with their family. My husband and I drive from Pickering to have dinner here and it's always worth the drive! The ambience, service and food are all amazing! My favourite dish is the Arctic Char - it's so good that even my husband ordered it once (he's not one to order fish for dinner). He's stated that the lamb is the best he's ever had.
