Skip the bustle of a big box store and visit local craft stores for inspiration and materials for your next project, whether it’s knitting, stamping, scrapbooking, beading, quilting or weaving.
Scrap Addicts, a new scrapbooking store in Ellerslie, has a diverse class calendar and the store is stocked with everything a scrapbooker or paper crafter needs. The store also hosts crops, or scrapbooking parties, where you spend an evening or weekend with others, working on your scrapbook. Scrap Addict has classes other scrapbooking stores in Edmonton don’t offer, including a beginner and advanced Copic marker class and a zentangle pattern drawing class. Sign me up!
The Edmonton Weavers’ Guild supports local fiber artists by offering equipment rentals, study groups, workshops and classes, and by selling their members’ art in an annual sale. They have an extensive class schedule, teaching weaving, dyeing, knitting, felting and spinning. They even have a class that introduces children to fibre arts.
Scrapbook Studio Arts is located on the north side off the Yellowhead. It has a large studio space available for group rentals. The shop also hosts its own classes and crops and sells plenty of scrapbooking supplies. Scrapbook Studio Arts also makes a commitment to supporting its community by helping with local fundraisers.
