Best Toronto restaurants for Easter 2016

This year, instead of going to your usual spot, try something completely different. Here are my top 5 choices for your not-so-typical Easter dining this weekend:

The Rectory Cafe

1
102 Lakeshore Ave, Toronto, ON M5J 1X9

o get to this café, you’re going to have to take the ferry. Open year round, the Rectory Café is located on Wards Island, just across Lake Ontario and 5 minutes from Ward's Island Ferry terminal. This weekend, they’ll be open Good Friday – Easter Sunday 11am to 5pm, closed Easter Monday. And the menu offers something for everyone – starters, salads, sandwiches, and mains including Mushroom & Smoked Gorgonzola Linguini ($18) and Butter Chicken ($20).

Lisbon By Night

Fish Friday takes on a whole new meaning on Good Friday thanks to Lisbon By Night’s All You Can Eat Fish Friday! Doors open at 5pm. This long-standing Portuguese restaurant will also be open on Easter Sunday at 11:30am with Easter Specials.

Rdinh Investments Corp

Want a restaurant-worthy meal without the hassle of having to make reservations? This Easter, Ma Maison Gourmet has got you covered with Chef Patrick’s prepared foods, including quiche and tourtiere, hors d’oeuvres, pate, viennoiserie and croissants, desserts, artisan breads & hot cross buns. And dinner is a snap thanks to entrees such as Roasted Turkey Breast with fresh herbs; Salmon Wellington with tomato-anise sauce; Roast Beef with jus; and Glazed Ham with Apricot & Maple Sauce Scalloped Potatoes.

On a cold, snowy Edmonton night, nothing says lovin’ like a cup of hot chocolate. It’s no surprise this drink was originally dubbed the “elixir of the gods.” Regardless of the variety you select, or whether you opt for the simplest hot chocolate on the menu, all I can say is ... don’t forget the marshmallows.
You don’t have to travel to Paris to have a true fine-dining experience; you can enjoy an upscale dinner, complete with a five-course meal and fine wine, right here at home. Victoria is a fine-dining destination with an excellent reputation – where talented chefs enjoy crafting delicious gourmet dishes from fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
Paired with a nice cup of coffee or topped with a scoop of ice cream, pie is unbeatable comfort food. And yet it faces stiff competition from cupcakes as the city’s dessert of choice. Well, pie is fighting back with old fashioned deliciousness as well as new and tantalizing flavours.
