Well Toronto, patio season is finally here. And it's about time, right? It's our one chance of the year to dine al fresco and be out in the warm, summer air, so I've selected the city's very best. See you on the patio!
You’d never know it from the front of Allen’s, but out back, a magical wonderland awaits you. A large tree offers not only the feeling of being in a lost garden, but a bit of shade from the sun’s powerful rays. Slim wood tables and chairs suggest a Muskoka setting or perhaps somewhere in Europe. What matters most is that you’ll seem elsewhere, outside of the city, for at least a little while. And sometimes, that all the respite you need.
Toronto often gets called the lesser New York, but from the view on The Chase Rooftop, you might as well be in Manhattan. It's not a large space up here, so it's easy to feel cozy, despite being underneath a blanket of stars and sky above you. And there’s the fact that towering skyscrapers surround you - and feel close enough to reach out and touch them.
Once patio season hits, you don’t always want to be squirrelled away from the action. And truly there is no better people-watching spot and feeling like you’re a part of an event, than Café Diplimatico. It’s busy and kind of crowded, but in a fun, festive way. You might go with one or two friends, but by the end of your stay, you’ll have talked to all the tables around you. It’s just that kind of place.
