We went there for nice dinner during winterlisious 2012. Overall restaurant is very busy but cozy and romantic. Our server was running around in hurry and as a result during entire evening mixed up who ordered what, since it was only two of us it was ok to switch. Food Overall was very good: My appetizer was yumm and so is my the other person, soft deep fried calamari was excellent. Chicken skewers were moist and sauce was perfectly spicy. For the main dish disappointment arrived, all main dishes come with rice and stir fry. Stir fry was the WORST I have ever tried, super hard giant pieces of cabbage+ raw zucchini made it unpleasant both on taste and texture. Main dish of red curry was excellent and rice was perfectly done. Basil beef was amazing (properly the softest piece of beef I have ever tried in my life). Desserts were good too my mango-chocolate mousse cake was heavenly and banana fritter had amazing crunchy but sweet coating on it .
This restaurant has been around for a long time. Not sure if the owners are authentic Thai, but the food is very tasty, especially the banana fritters. The portions can be shared between two people. My favourite dishes are: the seafood pad thai and thai pineapple fried rice. You should go.
Very good food, awesome service. Must visit in Toronto!
As a party of three, we ate here in Oct. What a wonderful experience! Everything ordered was super fresh and attractively served. I would recommend the appetizer sampler, which can be altered for more than two. Spring rolls, calamari, a sort of sushi and more with great dipping sauces. I had the Basil stir fried shrimp with baby basil leaves and adjusted to medium heat. My son ordered the shrimp fried rice - beautiful meal with the rice nice and spicy. My husband had Bangkok Noodle a seafood entree with tons of scallops. Not a crumb left on any plate. We had lattes (could have been hotter) and a great martini. The decor is wonderful - serene and artistic with very nice lighting. Service is very good - was surprised that the waiter always deferred to the men first, both in ordering and serving. No problem, but not used to that. He should have known it was my decision to go there. Very reasonable prices in relation to other Elm Street restaurants.
the food at their lunch buffet are slightly warm, not hot. we went 10 minutes after they opened for lunch one day, we expected the food at buffet to be hot, but were disappointed with their slightly warm food.
best deal for authentic Thai food in an upscale AYCE restaurant. Visited with a large party and were seated at a long table. Decor is upscale, hardwood floors throughout, statues and mirrors, staff is well dressed and very helpful. Extensive variety of delicious Thai food to please carnivores and herbivores. Will definitely re-visit and recommend to others.
By far the most authentic Thai food I have found in the city. Perry, our server, was so friendly and helpful; he really knows his stuff! The noodle bar in the buffet is excellent!
Bangkok Garden has fabulous Thai food. It's a real evening out - gorgeous dining room - truly impressive. Not like your average Thai restaurant in Toronto. This is something special.
