The Weston Village BIA, established in 1979, is one of the oldest BIA's in Toronto. Situated in the north-west end of Toronto minutes from both the 401 & 400 highways, it is next to the Humber River with its extensive bike trail and walking paths. The Village has a rich and storied history dating back to the late 1700's with many historical buildings still remaining including the beautiful Carnegie-built Weston Library which celebrates 100 years in 2014! At the moment, Weston is going through some major infrastructure changes that are destined to contribute towards a very prosperous future for the area. With a revitalized GO train service and new station, along with the new Union-Pearson Express, Weston Village is minutes away from both Union Station (18 minutes) and Pearson Airport. The construction of the Artscape Weston Hub is not going to stop the community behind the Weston Farmers’ Market from providing local products to Weston Village. Temporarily housed in a GO parking lot, the market is filled with local produce, foodie artisans and more.
