I have always wanted to learn how to dance. With the gentle push of a Friend who recommended Arthur Murray Dance Studio of Woodbrigde, I decided to stop making excuses. I was told that if I wanted a place where I could feel confident and learn to lead in my life, then I came to the right place.
My career is one where I spend long hours sitting at the computer. Thus, socializing and public speaking were not my forte, but dancing instruction helped me gain the skills I needed to use the talents I have and apply myself in a more directive management environment. Through the patience of my teachers and the wonderful people I have met, I have had the opportunity to develop rhythm and learn non-verbal cues of communication to help me lead and dance with esteem. Pushing myself to go outside my comfort zone and socialize during group experience has had a phenomenal impact on my career and life! I smile more as I move around more rhythmically, I participate more confidently in social environments and I even stand taller. Physically, I feel more vibrant and emotionally I am more stable and confident in myself!!
Thank-you to the wonderful staff and people who participate every week in such a healthy and engaging environment. When I started, I was a shy, defeated, exhausted stay at home single mom of three very young children. I was embraced by the vibrant wonderful owners who helped me to recognize the beauty in my stride and the gifts I have to offer the world when I stand tall! They taught me more than to dance, their warmth and humanity taught me to believe in myself. To hold my head up tall and look up, not down. I joined Arthur Murray of Woodbridge to learn how to dance and now I have a bouquet of other skills I have gained that I did not know came with the package! Through weekly lessons and group classes I have developed stylish posture, grace in my poise, and co-ordinated creative movement in my body. My excellent instructor have surrounded me with an environment that motivates me to strive for elegance in my dance technique and rhythm. It's a whole work out for your mind and body and helps me to stay focused on the here and now which is a transferable skill I apply to my life, staying present and focused and happy everyday. I have had the pleasure of participating in completions and showcases which has improved my confidence and helped me to be more successful at my work where I can shine with a smile in my soul and a spin in my heart!!

A few years ago I bought my girlfriend an introductory ballroom dance lesson package for her birthday. I must admit that I did not know exactly what I was getting into, but was she ever happy when she opened the envelope and found the Arthur Murray Dance Studio of Woodbridge gift certificate.
Now, it's been over two years that we've been dancing and I am proud to say that, for a guy who had no rhythm and wouldn't know a beat if it hit him in the head, I'm able to dance cirlces around the dance floor to any beat; Salsa, Mambo, Samba, Waltz, Viennese Waltz, Cha-Cha, Foxtrot, Tango, Merengue, Bachata, Hustle or Swing.
The instructors of the Arthur Murray Dance Studio of Woodbridge create a fun learning atmosphere and allow us to develop at our own pace. They've given us the confidence to "bust a groove" anywhere in public and have taught us ballroom dance skills that will remain with us forever.
