If you love to swim, why not try a water workout on your lunch break? The YMCA is a community-based organization that offers affordable fitness classes for all ages and abilities. Toronto’s central location offers several aquatic fitness classes during lunch hour that are only 30 to 45 minutes. Their AquaFIT program runs from 12:05 to 12:50 pm and provides a low-intensity workout targeting cardio, muscle conditioning and stretching. Check their schedule online for other group class possibilities.
With two 25-meter swimming pools outfitted with six swimming lanes each, the Metro Central YMCA is a great place to go if you're looking to swim a few laps. With its high-arched, wood-panelled ceiling, the pool area feels large and spacious, and more importantly, the pool is warm. You will need a membership or day pass to use the pool, but YMCA is great at working with individuals who might need help paying the fee.
