“I took all the best practices of the places I had worked in and combined them for my centre,” says Katie Pechersky, owner of Wunderkind Nursery and Learning Centre.
In 2009, after working in the school system for several years, Katie decided to open her own establishment. She always had a vision to someday create a centre that would put creativity at the forefront of educating kids. Aiming to motivate and teach kids through creative activities on a range of subjects, Wunderkind has a special emphasis on combining English and French languages. “The French/English balance is 40/60,” explains Katie. “We like to introduce kids to the two languages early on, so that when they are in a class later, of 30 to 40 kids, they will feel familiar with it.”
