It was a journey across Canada that gave Doug Hart and his wife Lisa Jiang the idea to open a bed and breakfast in downtown Toronto. They were travelling by car from Saskatchewan to Ontario, stopping overnight at cozy family-run places en route, when it occurred to both of them that they might like to run such a place themselves. “We started searching for the right property,” Doug says. “It took a while, but eventually we found the charming early 20th century house on Bathurst in 2012 and opened Rose Garden B & B in 2013.”
Today, the spot has four welcoming, traditionally decorated rooms furnished with beautiful antique furniture from Doug’s family.
