As someone quite familiar with the St. Clair West neighbourhood, Ben Latchford always thought there was a market in the area for an upscale butcher shop.
“I’ve lived in this neighbourhood three different times,” explains Latchford inside his Roast Fine Foods, alongside displays of dry aged beef, chicken, back ribs and an array of salads. “The first apartment I ever had was just a couple of blocks away when I was 18. And having worked in butcher shops for 20 years, I decided that I was just going to open my own shop.”
