I was not impressed with smug and condescending tone of the owner or manager of the shop. I am unlikely to shop there again.

    Returned to this ...

Returned to this location after being overcharged for an item night before. Though same staff were working today, none could confirm exact contents of my purchase - with receipt - as valid, beyond proof of watching video camera footage (store policy) of the time of my purchase. To refund a ninety-five cent overcharge, requires a one week wait; plus the cost of time and transportation to to the store. I mean, who cares to keep a longtime, regular customer's business? Certainly not Midoco.

Midoco is an arts supply store with an enviable selection of paper, pens and notebooks. This Annex mainstay prides itself on choice, and has a great range of journals and planners. All our functional favorites and old timey classics are present, like Moleskine, SemiKolon, Leuchtturm and Rhodia.

Some of the best customer service is found in smaller stores, and Midoco leads by example. They’re truly a family-run business; owners Michael and Cecile first opened the shop in 1978 and today their kids help out around the store. You can shop in person at their Annex or Beaches location, or online from the comfort of your own home. Either way, they offer regular specials, so check out their “featured items” section.

Although the area around Dundas and Spadina may be traditionally where artists congregate, smart art stores like Midoco have branched out into different areas of the city. If you venture out to a branch in The Beache or The Annex, you’ll find an art supplies store that’s full of everything you could possibly need, as well as artsy lifestyle products and holiday decor for that artistic flourish your friends will envy.
