A unique hybrid between a men's fashion store and a third wave coffee shop, Lost & Found caters to today's fashionable, style-savvy Torontonian. "Men today see style and clothes as a much more important thing than they used to. It's important for a man to dress well, for many different reasons: it gives them confidence in both their professional and personal lives, and makes them happier with the way they look, for instance. I think that style is one of men's interests nowadays," declares Jonathan Elias, who owns Lost & Found with partner Justin Veiga. The pair, old friends who met at summer school in 1999, opened their shop in January of 2011.
Jonathan and Justin's initial idea for the shop was, however, more inclined towards caffeine than quality denim and shoes. "We share a love for great coffee. At first, we wanted to open acoffee shop, which turned into a clothing store. Eventually, both ideas converged into one, as werealized that whenever we would go shopping, we would do so with a cup of coffee in one hand. Thetwo ideas kind of grew together from there," Jonathan recalls.
