As one of the longest running live music venues in the city, this Spadina Avenue haunt has a dive-bar vibe and a seriously cool legacy. Toronto’s self-described “Home of the Blues” will be hosting more than 10 performances during the festival. Your best bet? Visit on June 27 when Toronto-based Happy Pals take the stage to play their foot-stomping, hand-clapping old-time New Orleans party music. The joyous seven-piece jazz band has been bringing their Southern-style big-band sound to Grossman’s every Saturday for over 30 years so they know how to put on a memorable show.
They promise “never a cover” for live music and have always been true to their word for as long as they’ve been around. They’re open every day of the week with music starting as early as 4:30 p. m., giving you the chance to hear homegrown talent and seasoned veterans ply their trade. Plus, you can get on stage yourself during open jam nights and see how you stack up against the pros.
