Wing Armstrong and his younger brother Ben have long been at the core of Toronto’s tennis scene. Both brothers coach at clubs in Toronto’s west end: Wing is the tennis director at the Swansea Tennis Club, and Ben is the head tennis pro at the Howard Park Tennis Club. The pair works to foster a love of recreational tennis at the neighbourhood level, and have also been involved with competitive tennis. Both have coached at national tournaments, Ben working with rising stars such as Sharon Fichman and Joel Dembe. In 2007, Ben was also given the ultimate compliment of being named coach of the year by Tennis Canada.
After decades of sharing their love of the game with their students, establishing their own tennis boutique seemed an inevitable part of the game plan for these local legends. Game Set Match was officially launched in 2002, but its roots go back even further.
