“Our market is really messy,” he says in the gorgeous Dundas Street West showroom of the company his father founded in 1985. “It’s actually very difficult for a homeowner to navigate, because if you don’t do your research you can end up with inferior stuff. Reputation is always number one for us — I wouldn’t have anything in here I wouldn’t put in my own house.”

He gestures to the surrounding indoor streetscape, which features a stunning array of windows, doors and hardware manufactured by Andersen, Ostaco and Dundas itself. No detail has been overlooked, right down to a pair of miniature potted cedars outside one beautiful mahogany door.
