Open since 1997 in Toronto’s brunch loving Riverside neighbourhood, Bonjour Brioche beckons you with the smell of warm croissants, fresh coffee, and a beautiful outdoor patio. On weekends, the bakery is bustling while diners line up along the sunny side of Bouton Avenue for their French toast, quiche du jour, and peameal bacon.
“Twenty years ago you would not believe what it was like here,” says owner, Lori Feasson. When Bonjour Brioche opened you couldn’t find fresh bread on Queen Street East and brunch was a thing reserved for the west end. Shortly after a Globe and Mail write-up with glowing reviews of Riverside's new French style bakery, the neighbourhood seemed to transform from ghost town to a weekend destination.
“We’ve been busy ever since,” says Lori. “We hardly get any vacation because it’s just too hard to close.”
Bonjour Broiche aims to transport you to a café in Paris. The snug, but picturesque, side patio is the perfect place to enjoy freshly baked croissants, quiche and sandwiches. Bonjour Brioche is open for weekend brunch.
A favourite among locals, Bonjour Brioche is a bakery café on Queen Street East just east of Broadview. The all-day sandwich and patisserie menu is heavenly! The scent of freshly baked goods is just the beginning, because the cute café also delivers on taste! It also has a brunch service on weekend mornings.
Some of the best baguettes in the city are baking at the corner of Degrassi and Queen. This authentic French patisserie in Riverside features tarts, cakes, croissants and is also a popular weekend brunch spot, where comfort foods like the baked French toast are both delicious and filling. Last but not least, summertime patio-seekers take note: Bonjour Brioche has an excellent outdoor set-up for daytime hangs.
