Went for dinner. Stood at the hostess stand for 10mins being ignored by the waitresses. Finally seated by an older woman who ignored me and my husband at first and went to the family behind us until I spoke up (I think she thought we were all together?) Once seated we had a pleasant waitress who apologized for the delay. We ordered bruschetta bread (3 pcs for $8) which came out promptly. I ordered battered fish and a salad and my husband ordered chicken bruschetta wrap with a salad too... My fish was excellent but my husband's food had been sitting under a heat lamp (the plate was scalding hot) and the chicken was dried out which was disappointing. We will try again someday in hopes for improvement (maybe they were just having "one of those days") The 2 stars are for the waitress who was very good and my fish, food wise, was was best part of the meal.
Finally, Frankies Lounge is open again, and it's beautiful. Not only is the 70s retro feel there, but the food was excellent. Fish and Chips the best and my friend had the Filet Mignon....mmmm so good. You gotta give the NEW Festival Inn (Frankies) a try. We will be back.
This is a nice hotel in Stratford and I expected something more. No tablecloth, paper napkins, always had to ask for coffee top-up. I felt like I was in a diner. And here's what Thanksgiving dinner was. Small cubes of turkey, mixed in with lots of skin and lots of stuffing, all covered in lukewarm gravy. Disgusting. Now, having said that, the rest of the food was very good indeed. Would perhaps go back for brunch on any old Sunday, but never again on a Holiday, where one expects something special.
The decor in the Anne Hathaway Dining Room is quite dated. It feels like you've traveled back to 1979 for brunch. The service and food (quality and variety) more than make up for any shortcomings the building itself may have. The waitstaff are great and the brunch selections have a full breakfast and hot lunch as well as my personal favourite - chocolate fountains. Any resataurant with chocolate fountains HAS to be good, right?
