Kanata has grown by leaps and bounds over the past dozen years, hasn't it? It’s gotten to a point that residents don’t really even need to leave Kanata to catch a movie, eat in a good restaurant, or even buy a wedding dress.
Hopes and Dreams Bridal is a casual, friendly, welcoming kind of place, backed up by the kind of experience and service shoppers would be hard pressed to find anywhere else.

Horrible experience. It was my first time trying on dresses and the woman was so rude. I made an appointment and went in with my mom and my best friend. She completely lost interest after I told her what my budget was.
My fave Bridal Shop in Ottawa area. First time here was for my wedding, when Linda welcomed me on as a walk-in & dressed my wedding party. Since then gone back for 3 other weddings & once to buy a dress off the sale rack. Great deals on discontinued sample dresses! I recently even ordered a flattering style from her catalogue with her help & knowledge of styles & body types. I've sent several friends to her shop, all 100% pleased. I will never go anywhere else when looking for dresses!
Fantastic customer service
I was so happy with Hopes and Dreams Bridal. I was warmly welcomed as a walk-in. There were so many beautiful and affordable wedding dresses. The owner, Linda, was very patient as I racked up 22 dresses to try on... The first dress Linda pulled was The One; she continued to help me in to each dress, from fitted to full to compare styles. From the first time I walked in to the store to my final fitting, I was met with patience. I had such a relaxed and enjoyable experience dress shopping.
I will never, ever shop at Hopes & Dreams Bridal again. The lady who I dealt with (I assumed was the owner) was downright rude. She has no concept of customer service. I called ahead, and then went in at lunchtime with a girlfriend to try on a bridesmaid dress for a wedding in Halifax. As we walked in, someone immediately barked "SHOES!" at us. The lady didn't even bother to greet us before yelling at us to remove our shoes. We did, and then entered the store. They didn't have the dress I needed, so I tried on three others from the designer. The lady seemed to be warming up to us, so we let the shoes outburst pass. After I tried on the dresses, she suggested I be measured to make sure I had the exact right size. She held up the measuring tape and then asked if I would be purchasing the dress from her store. I said I wasn't sure yet, as the bride hadn't specified if we were buying them all together or separately. She then refused to measure me unless I paid her $25. This was absurd to me - how can a bridal store, or any clothing store, charge for measurements? She was incredibly rude about it and as we left (I did not pay her and consequently did not get measured) she didn't say goodbye. For a store that is clearly struggling (we were the only customers, and it's in a run-down, out-of-the-way strip mall in suburban Kanata), that is no way to secure business. She permanently lost two customers that day - myself and my girlfriend - and I will be telling all other brides about my bad experience. What she didn't know was that I am getting married in 10 months and had she been courteous and polite, I would have bought my seven bridesmaids dresses from her. Anyway, steer clear of Hopes & Dreams Bridal unless you want to be receive the worst customer service ever. There are loads of nice, friendly bridal stores in Ottawa... don't waste your time there.
