FIRMA Foreign Exchange Corporation

I am Controller for a large Tech firm in Ottawa and have been dealing with FIRMA for nearly 3 years now. Service is great, rates are competitive, and the money is moved around quick enough for my liking. The only complaint is that I have had to change traders twice because employees have moved on. Overall this has been a positive experience because it's so easy. Would recommend firma

Poor Service and Rates

I agree with the reviewer that said he got 3 good rates and then they started to increase. My experience with my former trader (Andrew) was identical. Towards the end, I noticed that he used word games and math tricks to obscure his actual exchange rate. I also felt that his knowledge of the market and his ability to time the market were incredibly poor also. Further, I don't feel that middle or senior management have any sort of client focus at all. In fact, their only concern for their clients is how much profit they can make from them. Lastly, FIRMA has no serious market analysts, or anyone that can give a proper market commentary. If you trade with FIRMA, I strongly suggest you have a rate ready from a competitor before booking with them. If you do, you will see how poor their rates really are.

Great Customer Service and Competitive Rates

I've been working with FIRMA (Formerly Globex) for about 4-5 years now and I have nothing bad to say about the people and the service. The rates are exceptional and I'd much rather work with them rather than use a confusing online system. The banks used to charge me 2-3% extra which i can now save for my business. I've dabbled with other brokers but nobody has impressed me more than FIRMA.

Wow! Amazing is all I can say!

I don't know what the 2 reviewers that posted negative comments were talking about, but they must work for the competition or something. I compared with my bank, and another broker, and FIRMA was better. I actually appreciate the calls, as they let me know when markets are moving in my favour. I am busy with many other aspects of my business, so the calls are welcomed, and their traders are very knowledgeable and extremely pleasant. I find too many brokerages are trying to push me to an online platform, which I just see as laziness. I know brokerages are making money from my transactions, so I would rather have some accountability and a bit of insight for the cost. It is a far sight better than the service and rates I get from the banks and so called "payment solution" companies. I strongly recommend their services.

Excellent Service at Firma

I don't normally write reviews but I found these two bad reviews posted to be way off the mark. My experience started with some reservations but has grown into an excellent relationship. My trader contact told me that he "does what the banks won't do and what online systems can't do" and that's a great way to put it. Compare rates all you want and FIRMA is fair, but I get waaaay better service that fits my specific needs. I know the tool & die business and spend very little time on foreign exchange so now I have a professional on my team who keeps an eye out for my needs.

Zero Knowledge

I gave this company a try for some of my company's fx trades. A person kept calling me giving me information on the market that never happened or ever made any sense. I learned that none of the people working for this office have any financial experience or background. The information they provided me was almost always wrong and it cost me severely. I rather deal with my bank and have professionals handle my trades. Their rates also progessively got worse after a few trades.

Terrible Service

I signed up to be a client and after about a month as a client I have gone back to bank. Terrible customer service with a very amateur team that have very limited experience in this industry. They prentend that they are experts and know the markets. The assigned dedicated dealer I had sold travel in the past and had no idea about the FX market. Made me do a trade that anyone with any experience would never of pushed me into. The first 3 trades I did were competitive with bank but last trade was way worse then bank. One of my wires went missing and I could not talk with anyone live to assist me in tracking my payment. Overall a bad experience and I would never do business with this company again.
