We ordered 3 takeout meals for a get together at home - $13.50 each The food was ready in 30 minutes and was waiting for me when I arrived to pick it up. I got a 10 percent discount for picking it up rather than having it delivered, so the total came to about $41. The 3 meals were well-packaged and still hot when I got them home. Everything tasted great - just the way chinese food is supposed to taste. In particular I noticed that the vegetables were crisp - they had not heated up some old ingredients. And there was more than enough for everyone My only regret is that downtown Hamilton is in such bad shape that it affects business. There were only 2 parties of about 7 people in the restauraunt when I arrived to pick up the food. The place deserves better than that.
the food was amazing! the sizzling chicken and shrimp was especially good. I would recommend it to everyone! We sat in and dined, so i guess it tasted better. The service was exceptionally amazing! The waiters were very charming and handsome! I would go again anytime!
Was takeout for lunch at my workplace, and most of the food was decent. Good portions, except the Chicken Balls were the worst I have ever had I think. No meat at all, and so gummy it was hard to cut. seems like leftovers for sure. Beef/Chicken was good though. Again it was takeout, and I didn't even order myself. Will have to try again .
Horrible. Tasteless orange goop (well, the cashews were good). And I'm usually not that harsh. I am a lover of all Asian food, and this was very disappointing. The won ton soup served before the cashew chicken was decent as was the cheese rangoon, but leave before the main comes out if you don't want to be disappointed. Hamilton really does need a good Chinese restaurant.
This is the best chinese in town! Great price, Great portions, Great food!
this is my first time at Le Chinois, and will be last time too.
We hadn't been here in a long time but wanted some good quality chinese food. I'd definitely go back. Everything was hot, large portions and very tasty. One pleasant surprise was the cost of the drinks. Domestic beer is $3 per bottle and we had a nice bottle of Riesling for $15. I can't remember the last time I got a bottle of wine in a restaurant for $15. My only concern was that the place wasn't very busy. If you haven't been in a while, check it out. We have to keep this great downtown Hamilton restaurant.
This used to be the finest fine dining Chinese restaurant in the entire Hamilton area. It was our special occasion Chinese restaurant. Now, it is tired, and needs a full and complete makover. The last time we were there the food was mediocre, and we thought that maybe it was just a bad day. This time the food was poor. The hot & sour soup which used to be fantastic, had very little flavor and I had to ask for some rice vinegar to give it a bit of tang. The orange beef which has always been a signature dish for this restaurant, was not crispy and flooded with sauce. The lemon chicken was thickly breaded and the sauce lacked flavor. I could go on and on, but won't. The only salvation was that the young man serving us was excellent. Needless to say, this is the last straw. There are too many very good restaurants to choose from and spend our money on to accept poor food. I feel badly but won't be going back.
One main factor that they get repeat business is that this restaurant is in Hamilton. Having just moved to Hamilton I have noticed that there is not much selection when it comes to good Chinese food. I guess we'll just settle for what we can get because we are to lazy to make it ourselves. Now the food: The steamed rice is crunchy, the hot and sour soup way off from what I have gotten in other restaurants(p.s. loose the button mushrooms from a can). I find it is touch and go when you order from here.
This is the best restraunt of its kind in Hamilton. Don't expect all the typical "Chineese food" dishes to be here, but they do have many of them. Many dishes are more on the spicy side. everything was super hot when we got it and it all tasted great - as always.
I don't have anything to say when I don't really know how to describe this worst experience in my life....
the sweet & sour chicken was either overcooked or was poor chicken-- way too chewy (was close to grissle); minimal sauce came with honey ribs and they had an off odour of fish (best description); chow mein not ad; spring rolls exceptionally oily; we couldn't eat most of the meal and threw it out
It was home delivery. Was suppose to be 1 hour and it took 1 1/2 hours. We live 7 minutes from restaurant. The chicken balls were dry and hard with tissue grissle. The rice was mushy and moist not fried and the chow mein was loaded with garlic. We threw everything out! Waste of money and we will never eat there again.
our family always go to le chinois. its the best restaurant ever. the orange beef rules, the fried rice is amazing and the cooked brocoli in the house special is outstanding and the noodles are to die for. the rice soup with all the chicken and vegis is very good
WOW. Love this restaurant. Always order chinese from here. Have never gone to another Chinese Restaurant. Love how the food tastes the same everytime. It is awesome! Love it ... :)
The orange chicken is AMAZING! Best chinese food ever.
It was amazing and it was some of the best food i've had ever. I definitly have to go back.
I usually order for take out at the Mall Road location on Hamilton Mountain and can honestly say it's the best chinese food in Hamilton and reasonably priced.
Great food, OK service. Definately the best chinese food in town.
Orange Chicken is to die for (if you like spicy food). I have been going here for years - Hamilton downtown location is the best location - Hamilton mountain and Burlington locations are good but not as good.
