I took a t440 to him that had problems (4 bleeps etc). They looked it over for free, told me the possible price, and fixed it. Also advised putting in a solid state HD which was a great idea. Im writing this a year later. They are honest, competent, friendly and professional. Answered all my qq. I will go back to them. In comparison a Westdale shop I phoned, before Dr. Dan, was so rude after I asked a couple of qq. about what they were going to do that I decided never to try the other shop.
Anis at Dr. Dan's Computer Repair provided excellent customer service with expert advice. Even though he spent time examining my laptop, he did not charge me for his consultation. I would return to Dr. Dan's in the future and recommend the store for any laptop/computer repair.

I feel fortunate to have met Dan and his associate. Within one hour of dropping off our MacBook Air, the problem was resolved! We had made 2 trips to Apple with no success. No making an appt online, no waiting for 4 days to speak with someone. I would highly recommend them and share with friends. So happy!

Found Dr. Dan online and was very happy with his service. Brought my macbook in after I had a couple of others try to fix it and wasn't sure it could be saved. He worked his magic. I would easily recommend him to others and would us him again if needed.
Dan has been servicing our PC and MAC computers for years, he's always accurate and timely in both diagnostic and repairs. He's personable and explains all issues in easy to understand terms so we know exactly whats wrong and what needs to be repaired.
If you have a Mac this is not the place to go. I'm not sure about PCs, but I can tell you he had my Mac for 10 days while I was on vacation. When I didn't hear anything, I assumed our plan for pick-up on return was a go. Not so. Dr. Dan said the machine needed a new power supply (on order have to wait a week) and there was extensive heat damage. Long story short, I took my Mac to a reputable dealer and had in back in working order in under two hours. The power supply was just fine, and there was no indication of heat damage.
Gordon, this review is far from the truth, and I feel it is necessary to respond with the reality of what occurred for the benefit of my potential customers. Our communication started via email. You contacted me and stated that your computer's graphics card had over heated and there was heat damage. When I asked how you had come to that conclusion you said another technician had diagnosed the unit. I then requested to have the unit checked in for diagnostic. You refused the diagnostic and told me to order the necessary parts to replace a failed graphics card. Though in all cases I prefer to diagnose the machine myself prior to performing any services, I made an exception for you due to the sense of urgency you had projected. You said you would take the unit away and then drop it off upon returning from your vacation.
You indeed brought the unit in, and we performed the requested graphics card replacement according to your request. The graphics card replacement was not however the resolution to the problem, and because the diagnostic was denied we then attempted to contact you several times. We found you to be unreachable via call or email for the duration of your vacation trip. Upon returning, you began shouting at me and demanding a fixed computer, I attempted to explain why the issues were not resolved, and that I had performed all your requests. I indeed wish I had stuck to my policies on this matter instead of making an exception, thank you however for the opportunity to address my first and only poor review.

Dr. Dan the computer specialist
A few weeks ago my daughter's laptop stopped working so I took it to where I purchased and they said they could send it out at a cost of around 400 to 500 dollars. So I called around to a few other places and got no where . Then I found Dr. Dan's web page and he and not only fixed my laptop but there was no charge. Where else can you get service like that . I totally lucked out when i found Dan's Ad. He was an absolute breath of fresh air. Kind, honest and he brought my laptop back from the dead in a timely manner and affordable to boot! Its like it brand new, faster and runs perfectly...

A few days ago I contacted Dan from Dr. Dans Computer Repair & IT Consulting after he came highly recommended from many close friends, and I'm so glad I did.
My laptop which I've had for approximately 3 years became unusable. Every second I was on it, it just froze to the point where nothing was responsive and I eventually gave up.
After contacting Dan, he diagnosed the problem which occurred from multiple viruses and was able to remotely fix the issue, which is great because I live about 2 hours away from where the company resides in Hamilton. He was very patient and understanding and fixed the problem in no time. Unlike many companies, he was generally concerned that I was happy with the outcome and he refused to settle for anything less than perfect.
My computer now runs perfectly and faster than the day I bought it!

Dan has worked with me on numerous occasions and i must say, it truly is like speaking to a doctor. All his explanations make perfect sense to me. After he diagnoses and explains the issue i feel educated enough to prevent the problem in the future as well as understand why it was necessary for the repair to be done.
