Come taste a savory dish at Riccardo's. They are open late from Tuesday to Sunday. You can get there not only by public transit but also by bicycle. The neighboring location is notable for its restaurants and merchants.
My favourite restaurant ever. The food is so good. It is always my first choice when asked "where do you want to eat". I am lucky enough to live in Amherstburg so I can go as often as I can afford. YUM! :)
We were with a group and had a pre-arranged meal. for $ 12.00 per person.
It consisted of spaghetti with tomato sauce, nothing else,
iceberg lettuce with a few slivers of red cabbage, and coffee/tea.
It is well known that pasta as well as iceberg lettuce are the cheapest and blandest foods for sale.
Some tomato, cucumber etc. would have improved the salad, but the whole meal certainly was not worth the money.
It was my first time here, and also my last.
Was visiting Amherstburg for wine & history sites and stumbled across this gem. Warm ambience and nice riverside view. A real delight to be able to watch cooking staff in action from table. Talk about a well coordinated operation! Service was friendly and prompt and the dinner was excellent as was the value. Definite stop when we return to the area.
I literally just got home from Riccardo's and couldn't wait to rave about this place. What a night! This was our first night trying this place and it surely won't be our last. We arrived and wanted to sit on the patio but every table was full. The host/manager let us know it would be about 5 minutes before a table was available and as soon as a couple left she cleared it promptly and sat us immediately. Sitting on the waterfront on a summers day with music playing lightly in the background is the perfect atmosphere. The waitress recommended the calamari to start and it was DELICIOUS and huuuge! We ordered the spaghetti carbonara and the special of the day which was a chicken dish with a creamy sauce served with pasta (can't remember the name). Both were full of flavor, creamy, fresh, and generous portions. We ended the dinner with a piece of cheesecake with a cherry topping. Again, DELICIOUS! Afterwards you can walk along the beautiful riverside Amherstburg has to offer. This was an ever so memorable dinner and night out. We can't wait to come back and try all the other dishes Riccardo's has to offer.
Oh I love love love Riccardo's Restaurant. Best Italian food I have ever had and service is good. This is a place I would wait to be seated if they were busy. It is so worth it. The owner is a quite guy but aims to please. His other business Rosa's is the place we order most from for take out and it is just the same GREAT. I would recommend for sure any time any occasion.
Will never patronize again. Had reservations for my birthday on May 29/10 with friends. Were told we could not reserve for patio seat but when we arrived could move to patio if table available. Table was available but told we could not have it as it was being "held" for someone (which is a reservation in my books). Stayed anyway and ate inside. Service terrible; waitress was taking away food before we were done. While food was good, service/customer relations not good. When Manager told about our exerpience it was basically a so what attitude. Other good Italian restaurants will get my business before I ever go back to Riccardo's.
What can I say, except that Riccardo's is absolutely wonderful. The atmosphere, food and service and price, is outstanding. In the summer you can sit outside and see the waterfront and enjoy music playing etc. Yes it is a busy place, but this tells me that the restaurant has great food, service, etc...................and it truly does. Keep up the great work. I will go back time and time again.
This was our 3rd time at this restaurant and again we were not dissapointed, the food is above average in quantity and quality, the Wine service needs improvement but generally they had a good selection. A open fired pizza oven is on site but yet to be tested for some reason. This reataurant has the right idea in having the kitchen out in the open so you may see your food being prepared and it also leave no question to the cleanliness of the place. Just an all round good meal every time we've been there and can;t wait to go back.
Food was prompt, however a croweded dining area made it difficult to enjoy a quiet dinner between two people. The atmosphere is one shared by every other italian eatery. location is nice however our view of the amazing waterfront was blocked by too many other customers to even began to enjoy.
To sit and write this about this meal is purely a waste of time. Words can't describe the taste, service... The whole meal. Nothing in Amhurstburg touches this place for service and food. If you don't go, your missing the best meals in town.
Really nice atmosphere...the staff is very friendly and bring you bread and drinks right away. Menu is very versatile. The food is fabulous...went there twice and enjoyed all the meals. The kitchen is all open so you can see the chef preparing your food. Everything is very clean and open. You can eat on the patio which overlooks the Navy Yard park and the river. If you do order wine the price would be between $26-$60 per person. All in all this restaurant is great...we will definetly be going back!!!
