My dog loves coming here! He enjoys going on the off leash hikes. It has really built his confidence being with other dogs. I highly recommend bringing your dog to roaming rovers.

So happy with the service I got from roaming rovers for my dogs. I was worried about leaving them for the first time but the staff ensured me they would be properly cared for and they were! They have been sleeping since I brought them home. Roaming Rovers took my dogs out for hikes daily like they would get at home. They kept as close as a routine to at home so my dogs could be comfortable and cared for during their stay! Recommend to all dog lovers :)

They lost my dog and when he showed-up at a neighboring home he had a shock collar that had been put on him without my approval. Without being trained on a shock collar, I suspect he was shocked and was running away from the pain. I had two dogs at the kennel for a week. they were not sure which dog they had lost. When I picked up my dogs, Staff confirmed that neither of the dogs had been walked on, or off leash since the first day. I was lucky to have had my civic tags on him.

You were well aware that they had gotten off leash and you were surprised. But at not time did you request an unleash walk for him. Your girl was on the off leash walks everyday. As for the ecollar it has a vibration and tone option, at not time did we use the stimulation, He was never in pain. I am highly offended that you would write this after the stress we went through trying to find your dog. He was exercised daily in our fenced area and never lacked for exercise.

    Unsupervised, crated and left alone.

Dogs are crated and left alone in the home for hours while owners/employees are walking the dogs off-leash. E-collars used without owners permission. Over crowded and very small enclosure for outside play.

Dogs are left alone and secure they same as they would be when we are closed while the staff hike with the others. This is clearly explained at visits. we are gone daily from 10 - 12 and it would of been all in the information package given to you during your visit. collars are not used without owners permission. I cannot determine if you are even a client of ours but you would be misinformed about our space being small. We have a 48ft x 9 ft run and a 60 ft x 40 ft run with agility equipment.

Please do not board your dog here. It is overcrowded, smelled HORRIBLE, some dogs were crowded into the tiny enclosure on the side of the house, and the others inside were barking and one employee was yelling at them to make them stop (apparently she thinks this works???). Showed up to find my dog crated and absolutely reeking of excrement. Find somewhere else if you can at all manage it, literally no other kennel I've used has had such blatant problems.

I agree we did smell terrible that week. we had 3 incontinent dogs and it was challenging for us to get the smell out to say the least. We accommodate dogs with all issues here and while it smelled badly it was being cleaned up as soon as it happened. we do find if we can be heard over the dog they do subside as it can get noisy when people come and go. I sorry you did not like it here and the SPCA came by after your complaint and told us we were doing a great job. sorry you were disappointed.

DOG OWNERS BEWARE OF THIS PLACE

Dog lovers beware!! Anyone who cares about their dog would not leave their dog here if they knew what went on behind closed doors! The outside areas for your dog are VERY small and accommodate a large number of dogs. I came to pick up my dog and found an electric collar on her neck!! The owner had absolutely no right to put an electric collar on my dog (or any other dog) without owner consent - I was appalled! Also upon arrival I could hear the owner, Joanne screaming "shut up" at the dogs!

    My dogs LOVE Roaming Rovers!

I have been to a lot of dog daycares, and Roaming Rovers is by far my favorite. Joanne is the most caring, and compassionate person I have met in the business. My dogs are always so happy to go to Roaming Rovers, because they know they get to spend the day running around in the woods, splashing in puddles, and playing with their doggy friends. There is no place around that compares to them!

    Hard Working!

Hi there! I'm a consistent visitor of Roaming Rovers. After reading the last review I just couldn't help but point out a few facts that the last lady must have missed! For one, there is plenty of fenced in areas, two small individual runs to the opposite side of the big run, and a very large, wide open fenced in area for dogs to play in out back. Yes, this company is in her basement, but it is also suited for the business itself! It's not like a place a family of people can live in, although there are 3 different areas that dogs can hang out in, one room with a nice warm fireplace for during the winter, along with couches and dog beds. I constantly see the dogs running, roaming, around outdoors, outside of the fenced areas, with supervision. Staff regularly ask customers when they are arriving, so the dogs are not running loose when they arrive. Also, there are closing times for every business running, and as a small business, I imagine that Joanne must plan around her business hours a lot. Her team of staff are all very nice, talented and extremely hard working. They don't just sit around, for sure. They not only care for the dogs themselves, they also clean the entire facility for all the dogs to live in. So, if a dog were to come home dirty, it surely wouldn't be the facility itself, but the fact that the dog may have enjoyed a nice roam around outside with other dogs. It's truly great what everyone at Roaming Rovers does, with grooming, breeding, boarding, day care... I don't think anyone else could take on as much as they do, and still love their jobs as much as they do!

    NEVER take your dog here!!!

I took my dog to Roaming Rovers for day care and my first impression over the phone was really positive. I was thinking that this would be a place I could take my dog regularly. I was very wrong. When I dropped my dog off it was a house that has a very long rocky driveway and the daycare area is in her basement with small fenced area along the side. I thought with all the wood and land around it that there would be BIG areas for dogs to run that was fenced in but I did not see anything like that! There is no place for the dogs to roam or run around, that I could see. I noticed walking into the office that there was something off, I couldn't hear any of the dogs and all the fenced area was covered with traps. The reason I take my dog to daycare is if I have to work late, I explained that before arrive and then all of sudden at the end of the day I got a Extremely rude phone call from the owner telling me the they are closing NOW!!! I said sorry about a million times and was able to get to the house ten minutes after she was "so called closed", she went on and on how she had to pay her employees over time all how I made her miss appointments ect, ect. but I only say her and no employees. She ended up charging me a crazy amount of money for 10 extra minutes and was so RUDE, NASTY and down right mean! Unprofessional, does not even cover the word to describe this experience. I could understand if my dog was horrific and bad but that wasn't even the case. I paid and got out of there as fast as I could! My dog smelt so bad and was so dirty that I had to have him groomed ASAP, so no wonder she wouldn't show me the facility! This is one of the worst kennels I have ever seen across Canada!

Firstly you did not say you would be late. You didn't see anything here because you had absolutely no time to visit because you were too busy in the morning and too late picking up your dogs. Your dogs had a great time and did run off leash on our acreage. It was spring of the year and yes it was muddy. Sorry we are proud of getting dogs muddy here but they weren't in pee or anything of the sort. they were here for one day of daycare only. when I called you I called because it was 15 minutes after closing and my staff had to leave. I was at my accountants meeting for income tax returns and had to leave to come meet you for you to get your dogs and then return to my meeting. Thank you for relying all that information in your complaint! Anyone who visits our facebook page and who visits us regularly knows their dogs are always happy and well exercised here. We don't promise clean though! lol especially if your dog likes the mud holes :) that's what we are about. Our roaming rovers facebook page has pictures and videos posted daily of our place and its too bad you didn't take the time to have a visit so you could of actually seen what we do offer our clients.

    Peace of mind

I was nervous about boarding my dog while I was away. when I found Roaming Rovers I felt much better during the visit. They were experienced and took their time with my dog. My dog was a bit nervous initially with the other dogs barking but after a short time all quieted down and my dog became very comfortable. When i picked him up a few week later, he was so happy he didn't even want to leave! he was able to run and play, it was such a nice feeling to come home too. Thank you Joanne and staff at Roaming Rovers!
