Often outdated product lingers on the shelves and in the fridges. Management couldnt care less when it is brought up.
Chicken meals are often dried out and they run out of things like gravy, pasta salads or taters and dont replace them.
Dont go looking for lotto at 9am when the lotto cashier opens. She spends 20-30 minutes organizing and chit chatting with other staff. When you come up (because, again, she is supposed to be OPEN at 9am) to ask for anything she rudely tells you she is not ready
The produce in this store is clearly the worst I have encountered among all other major grocery chains in Halifax. The lettuce is often brown and wilted; the so-called high end apples must be second or third grade rejects because they are frequently bruised and pock marked; some of the produce, supposedly packed fresh on the very day one first sees them, are already going brown on the bottom of the see-through containers; it is as if Sobeys on Lacewood is stiffing us with third-rate product.
I have gotten sick numerous times from the chicken wings from the deli have taken them back was refunded that's not the point check and see if the food is cooked and handled properly.
This Sobeys is going through a major renovation. Fair enough. However, I would expect the quality of their produce to be the same. Today I was totally disgusted with the state of a large amount of the produce. The green beans that they offered were rotten. The avocados were rotten. The price was rotten too. Why would you even display such poor items. Composting them would be the only answer. Shame on Sobeys? I have been a customer of this store since it first opened. Lost customer!
