I had two trailer hitches installed, one for a Tesla Model S and one for a Subaru WRX. I was particularly impressed with how well they put a 1 1/4" hitch on the Tesla. Other installers in the city were reluctant to take it on and were quoting me high prices because of the anticipated labour charge but U-Haul had specific instructions for this hitch and a cost that was lower than I was quoted elsewhere. Note that I went for a traditional hitch instead of an Eco Hidden Hitch.
I booked an appointment to install a hitch over the phone. When I showed up I was informed that they don’t do hitch installations in the weekend. They said it was the fault of their call center in Arizona. If that is true then why haven’t they fixed it since the last poor review?
Booked for hitch install with their main office for a Saturday and paid over the phone. Called the actual location to confirm, they replied by saying they don't install on evenings or weekends and that their next availability was a month from the current date! I asked to speak with a manager and they told me she had left for lunch and to call back after 1pm. I called at 2pm and they told me that she had gone home. I asked for a refund and they said only a manager could. Terrible service! Avoid!
Tried to get a new hitch ordered (upgrading from class 2 to class 3) from uHaul in Dartmouth. uHaul needed to order in a hitch which would take a week they said. They would call me when in. Well, no call, no hitch in when I called after 10 days. No hitch when I called after 2 weeks. I called the main 1-800 uHaul line. They could not get anyone at the Dartmouth store so they left a message for the manager to call. No call for another week. Go elsewhere if you need a hitch.
