Slow service and sneaky behind-your-back charges?
I went to ProActive to have them look at my car after some damage was done to my rear bumper. I saw them the day after the damage occurred and wa pressured several times by the company employees to put the incident through my insurance despite the fact that it's minor damage - red flag number one. I had to spend a chunk of the appointment talking them down from the quote they had given me, noticing that they were trying to replace non-damaged parts that were not affected by the accident (no, I do not need a new set of mud flaps. They are fine). After getting several other quotes, I found that the price I had haggled ProActive down to was the best one of the bunch so I called them that same day and made plans to go through them. They said it would take 2 to 3 days to order in the parts needed to make the repairs. Over a week later - no contact from them. I called them myself, and are the parts in? Nope. My appointment just to drop the car OFF is over a week away (read: 2 and a half weeks after my first visit) and based on what I've seen so far it'll be quite a while before I get it back. I'm sticking it out because I can't be bothered to go through all of this again with another company, but trust me, if you want the work done in anything resembling a timely fashion and if you don't want to be chasing after them for appointments that THEY should be making with you -- go to someone else.
