After 25 years of selling goods to residents and building managers in the area, West End Paint and Hardware has become somewhat of a neighbourhqood fixture. The small space holds everything needed for a fixer-upper in two, well-organized aisles. Adding to the attraction of this quirky little shop are the two friendly long-time West End residents who run it: Bruce Day and James Edwards.
As customers come and go, grabbing a new key, some links of chain, a couple of screws, or a light bulb, many of the customers banter and joke with Bruce or James behind the counter. Bruce's lovable dog, Cheyenne, greets customers at the door and has done so since 2001. In addition to serving individuals, the store also provides a service to many property managers from the surrounding apartments and houses.
“We sell a lot of paint. A lot of building managers have accounts with us as they are always touching up the paint in their buildings when a tenant moves out,” says James.
Absolutely the worst customer service imaginable. Rude to the extreme and unhelpful to the point of indifference. Avoid these guys and go to Home Hardware or Home Depot
