When cousins Erin Crowle and Kerstyn Edey were young, they both fondly remember spending hours in their grandparents’ gardens. “Our grandparents were very creative and their gardens were gorgeous,” says Erin.
After high school, Kerstyn went on to study photography and business, while Erin attended school in horticulture and landscape design. Their fields of study would soon prove to be the perfect business merger between two individual talents.
In 2007, a friend of the family asked if the two could do their wedding flowers. Word soon spread about their artistically stunning bouquets and before long, Erin and Kerstyn were asked to work on other wedding arrangements. “It really grew organically from there, although we both kept our day jobs for a few years,” explains Erin. “Then in 2012, we received a call from a bride-to-be who had a $15,000 flower budget.”
That was the pivotal moment when Erin and Kerstyn decided it was time to open a shop. The seed for Our Little Flower Company (OLFCO) was planted.
