As you wander along Robson Street this is a popular Japanese restaurant that has been here for awhile. Reservations highly recommended. The assorted tempera was excellent, nicely battered, and we tried various appetizers such as gomae, liver, fried fish, clam soup, edaname, tofu, Saba shiroyaki, salmon belly. We ordered various sushi which was lovely plated and tasted pretty good and fresh. Also, Negitoro roll, and a few nigiri items. The service was excellent.
Their menu item numbers are not that many as other extravaganza but Miko Sushi offers all the traditional Japanese-sushi-restaurant-entries. So, although you're not going to see any fusion mumbo jumbo that most izakayas in town nowadays present proudly here, there are many choices between hot food and sushi that you never get bored. Rather Miko Sushi is really about the authenticity, which is actually very rare to find in Vancouver. My favourite is Spicy Scallop Cone. It is like a little hidden jewel! The Mackarel sushi is unique and delicious. The service is very attentive. The staff has always been on top of what they do and each person is fun in their own way.
I highly recommend this place to everyone.
The sushi here is a little pricier compared to other places in Vancouver, but the quality is there. The servers are all dressed in Kimonos and the spider rolls and miso soup is delicious! Great location!
