East Side Re-Rides is a consignment store crammed full of motorcycle gear and other leather goods for men and women. It was bought by former IT worker Elaine Miller in 2011, and has flourished since then as a one-woman passion project. “I’ve always had an interest in collecting objects and re-homing them, and I love leather, I love the gear, I love geeking out about materials and functional objects,” Elaine says.
“It’s not just leather objects, but all the stuff in this store: boots, belts, bandanas, and the gadgets and luggage that clip smartly onto motorcycles in various ways. The functionality of everything in the store is fun for me. I like to feel like I’m saving it.” She does warn, “If you want to come shop here, pack a lunch. Because everything in the store is unique, there’s really a lot to look at, and it takes a while to go through the entire store.”
